How to create shortcut to open terminal in Linux (Redhat8)

Hello friends,  as we all know working on linux gives us more power than working on any other Operating systems, specifically for developers or networking guys.So, today we are going to see how we can set shortcuts to open any GUI program through the keyboard .


If you are using redhat than this article is definitely for you guys, but if you are using even any other distro of linux than this article will surely help you guys .
so without wasting your precious time let's get started.

HOW  TO  SET  SHORTCUTS  TO LAUNCH  ANY  "GUI"  PROGRAM  IN LINUX  BASED  OPERATING  SYSTEMS.

First of all launch your application window either by pressing windows key or by clicking on the app menu icon on the bottom left of your screen or on the upper left corner .


After this start typing "settings" and click on the setting icon.




After clicking on the setting icon you will see the page something like this




then click on "devices" option on the bottom left of the screen and now you will have some screen like this




now click on the "keyboard option "  and you will have screen something like this




click on the add button to add new shortcuts for any GUI program you want to launch, you just have to find out that what command a program is using behind the scenes and you are ready to go.

after clicking on the add button you will see window like this



fill the name of your shortcut whatever you like, it doesn't matters at all, then enter the command used to launch that particular GUI program, you can search for commands for all the specific GUI programs over the internet. and then click on "set shortcut", after that a window will come up in front of you, you just have to press the combination of key from keyboard whatever you like, for example i have shown you guys the example of setting shortcut for launching terminal .after pressing the combination of keys click on add button and that's it..
